SELOUS GAME RESERVE – Selous has the finest unspoiled virgin bush, uninhabited and little touched by human interference. As a result making it an ideal peaceful remedy spot. Visitors will find themselves in a pristine wilderness far away from the established tourist routes.

Selous boost larger population of Elephants as well as large numbers of Buffalo, Hippo, Crocodile and endangered Wild dog. Commonly seen are pride of Lion, Bush buck, Impala, Warthogs, Ostrich, Giraffe, Eland, Baboon, Zebra, Hyena, Kudu, rare sable antelope and Leopard.

In Selous there are more than 400 species of bird life: Fish eagle, Kingfisher, Secretary bird, Sunbird, Hammer kop, Red & Yellow bill stork, Open bill stork, Weavers, Water birds, Marabou stork, Vulture’s etc. In short, the variety of the wildlife to be explored are endless.

MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

Mikumi’s landscape provides a serene wildlife experience, commonly seen animals Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Antelope, Wildebeest, Eland, Crocodile, Hippo, Baboon.

If luck is in your favor, you won’t miss to see Lions & ultimately the Leopard. Mikumi inhabits over 300 species of birds namely saddle bill stork, hammer kop, malachite kingfisher, lilac breasted roller, yellow throated long claw, battler eagle etc.

Don’t miss to visit Hippo Pool, where you can watch hippos wallowing and snorting at close range. this will be accommodation inside the park , during the night you will hear lots of animals, including hyena, sometimes even a lion, When you visit Mikumi masai boma visit included

ULUGURU MOUNTAIN at choma village –

The Waluguru people are indigenous to Choma village. They are a matriarchal society. After marriage a man must move to his wife’s land, while matters concerning their children handled by the uncles.

The Waluguru people are farmers producing vegetables such as cabbages, carrots lettuce, pumpkins, cassava, yams, beetroot and mchicha (a green vegetable).

They also grow fruits, including mangos, bananas, strawberry, blackberry, raspberries, jack fruit and soursop and other products such as corn/maize and beans. The Waluguru have a rich culture, and come together to celebrate weddings and special occasion like kunema mwali (when young girls become women).

The Africasana tours and safaris can take you to meet the Waluguru people of Choma village.

You can experience their hospitality, sample their tradition food and see their pot and mat making skills. You may even get a chance to share a cultural talk over lunch and waterfalls visit.Enjoy the picnic to the waterfalls.

Day 1
Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve

Morning of 7:30 am we will pick you at your hotel in Dar es salaam or Home to Selous Game Reserve with a stop for a picnic lunch on the way. The journey will take 5 hours. There will be a late afternoon boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River. This brings you into close contact with hippo, crocodile, and fantastic bird life.

Animals make their way to the river to drink and boats may approach elephant, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, waterbuck, and other game on the river banks within a few meters. Crocodile glide into the water as your boat approaches and hippo appear in frightening proximity, grunting and blowing steam.

Overnight at Selous mbega Camp on FB Basis (Lunch & Dinner).

Day 2
Day 2: Full Game drives in Selous Game Reserve

This day will be dedicated to enjoying the wilderness of the great Selous Game reserve. You will leave early morning of this day with packed breakfast and lunch boxes to go for full game drives covering different attractions within the reserve. Overnight at Selous mbega camp

Day 3
Day 3: Morning Game drive enroute to Mikumi

Morning after breakfast You will continue with drive enroute to Mikumi town via Kisaki village and Morogoro town. When you arrive in Mikumi we will pass to Masai village for getting Maasai story about they’re life style and you will get a chance to see Maasai Boma also to sing Maasai songs and dancing with them While you will be dressed as Maasai man or woman it depends on your gender. After Maasai Village you will be checked in Mikumi National park inside and taken to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay within the park.

Day 4
Day 4: Mikumi national park

After breakfast, drive out for a game drive in Mikumi NP until 13:00 hrs where in you will drive to Mikumi cottage for hot lunch. You will have a short rest and then you will go out again for an afternoon game drive until sunset then straight to Morogoro town

Dinner and overnight stay at the Tex palace hotel

Day 5
Day 5: Morogoro town to Morningside cottage

At 7;30 morning we start walking to Morningside is the old German colonial house build in 1911 the house located about 900m up the uluguru mountain, Morningside in a scenic forest clearing just a couple of hours walk from the morogoro town, there is splendid view from the cottage which overlooks Morogoro town and the surrounding landscape

and an opportunity for agroforestry. Most of the fruits and vegetables sold at the open market are from the mountains.

When we hike up, we saw many families harvesting carrots, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry and strawberries !

The families in the mountains were kind and humble. They are living a remarkable life with those views every morning!

You will camp for the night at Morning Side enjoy the different evening plus night views from there,

Day 6
Day 6: Morningside to choma waterfall then straight to Dar es saalam/Morogoro

After a beautiful night you start hiking to Choma traditional Village which is 1200 m via Kisosa village while walking you will have a chance to see a beautiful Morogoro town view from the top, and also there first Lutheran church building with germany in 1913, At Choma you will be able to participate in different traditional activities like mat weaving, pot making and traditional dancing “ngoma” as well as swimming in a beautiful waterfalls (if you would opt to) that’s with in the village, while in the village you will have African meals for lunch then walking to Morogoro town then direct dare s saalam,
